About Jerry Macias

As a New York Life Agent, I sincerely believe that most people want to do what's right: right for themselves, right for their families, and right for their communities. In fact, that's one of the reasons I joined the company back in 1989.  After 4 years of working as an AVP with the Los Alamos Credit Union as a Mortgage Loan Officer from 1985 to 1989,  I wanted the opportunity to work somewhere that made it easy for other people to do what was right, and more importantly, made it easy for me to do right by them.

I attended New Mexico State University from 1977 to 1981 and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management.  I received a full athletic scholarship to play baseball at NMSU and was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds organization in the 24th round of the summer draft in 1981.

My wife Linda and I moved to Santa Fe, NM in 1982 where I started working in the finance industry. We moved to Las Cruces, NM in 1992 where we currently live and call home.  We raised three children while in Santa Fe and Linda and I are currently empty nesters with 4 grandchildren. We have been married for 34 years and enjoying our transition at this time of our lives. We look forward to seeing our children and grandchildren grow in their respective families and visit them as often as we can.   I therefore have a vested interest in seeing my friends and neighbors succeed, and have many of the same hopes and aspirations as my clients.  I am happy to share with you all the resources and information New York Life has to offer.

In addition to my 28 of experience, I have participated in New York Life's well-known training program, NYLIC University, and have been named to New York Life's President's Council for 2014-2016.1

Of course, my background isn't really the one that matters. To be the best possible agent, I've found that getting to know my clients – their hopes, dreams and goals for the future – is the most important first step. So if you're looking for someone that's ready to put their expertise and experience to work for you, please let me know.
